DOH belies 'unfounded rumors' of Covid surge before polls

MANILA – The Department of Health (DOH) on Saturday categorically denied "unfounded rumors" that it will report a coronavirus surge days before the May 9 elections and pin the blame on campaign rallies.

A tweet posted on April 28 about a supposed DOH-declared surge garnered over 11,000 “likes” and 2,213 retweets.

It alleged that two days before the election, the DOH will release a report indicating a hike in Covid-19 cases and that some of the positive individuals will be ordered to say that they went to a rally of a certain candidate.

6 LGUs in BARMM have zero Covid-19 cases but sets massive vax days

COTABATO CITY  – Health officials in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) today announced that Covid-19 infections continue to drop in the region despite being tagged as having the lowest vaccination rate across the country.

As of today, only three new cases of infections have been reported by the Bangsamoro Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF).  Two were fromn Cotabato City and one in Maguindanao.

Lanao del Sur and Marawi City, Lamitan and Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi have zero case, according to Dr. Amirel Usman, BARMM health director general.

Church asks faithful to maintain health protocols this Holy Week

MANILA - A top official in the Catholic Church has called to maintain health protocols as Catholics are expected to flock to churches on Holy Week.

Bishop Pablo Virgilio David, president of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP), said that Covid-19 remains a serious threat.

“Even though the pandemic has subsided, let us not let our guard down. Let us continue following the health protocols so that we can finally defeat this pandemic,” David told Radio Veritas on Friday.

BARMM, zero new COVID-19 infections, sa Region 12 may 8

COTABATO CITY - The Ministry of Health in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) today announced that nobody was infected with COVID-19 while the Department of Health in the Soccsksargen region reported eight new cases.

Nobody was healed from six active cases in BARMM Region 12 has reported 20 patients have recovered.

No one was killed due to COVID-19 related diseases in two regions.

PhilHealth Regional Office X Field Operations Division Chief, Mae Rebenito Dizon, conceptualized this innovation as a Capstone Project under the Public Management Development Program of the Development Academy of the Philippines.

Region 12 COVID-19 update: 56 news cases, 145 recover and 2 deaths

COTABATO CITY - The Dept of Health in Region 12 has recorded 56 new confrimed COVID-19 cases as of March 2, 2022.

It also said that 145 patients have recovered and two persons have died.

One of the fatalities was from Tupi and the other in Banga, both in South Cotabato.

Overall, there are a total of 69,711 COVID-19 confirmed cases reported to DOH CHD SOCCSKSARGEN region. 502 (0.72%) are active cases, 66,673 (95.64%) recoveries and 2,504 (3.59%) COVID-19 related deaths.
