Bansalan LP candidate shot dead

BANSALAN, Davao del Sur — A local businessman here who is seeking a seat in the town council was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen Wednesday night, police said.The victim was identified as Domingo Isip, resident of Dalia Street, Barangay Poblacion 1, Bansalan. He owns a cockpit arena and into money lending business.Chief Insp. Adrian Antonio, Bansalan police chief, said Isip was returning home on board a car with his driver and was about to enter his residential compound when shot.He had just come from his cockpit arena when the incident happened at about 11 p.m. Antonio said Isip died on the spot from gunshot wound on his face and body. His driver, Joel Caballero, was unharmed.Isip is running as councilor under the ruling Liberal Party.
