Cops arrest alleged BIFF members in Sultan Kudarat town
KORONADAL CITY - Two Alleged members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) were arrested Monday in Columbio town, Sultan Kudarat Province.
Police Capt. Arnel Legada, Columbio PNP chief, said they served two separate search warrants around 3:30 in the morning against Solaiman Maonon and Mamatantu Dindo, both residents of
Purok 3, at Barangay Makat.
Authorities seized from the house of Maonon an M16 Rifle, 27 5.56 mm live ammunition, a hand grenade, and a short steel magazine for M16 rifle.
They also seized from the house Dindo a Springfield Garand rifle, an M79 homemade grenade launcher with seven rounds of 40mm live ammunition, 46 live ammunition and six steel clips for Garand rifle.
The service of both search warrants were witnessed by local officials in the area.
The alleged BIFF members were immediately brought to Columbio Municipal Health Office for medical examination.
They are now in the custody of Columbio PNP together with the seized items while documents for the filing of violation of Republic Act 10591 or Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition are being prepared.
