KORONADAL CITY – A fire of still unknown origin gutted down Sunday dawn an auto supply establishment here while the country is observing fire prevention month.

It was the fourth fire reported in the city since March 1.

Donna May Collado, a witness, said she was awakened by noise created by people trying to help put off the fire on Gear Up Auto Supply and Accessories along Morrow Street, Koronadal City.

The city fire office reported the conflagration started at 1:45 a.m. and quickly engulfed the one-story building.

Arson investigation continues.  Fire officers are reviewing CCTV footage of nearby establishment to help determine if the fire was intentional or accidental.

Early this month, a fire hit the principal’s office of Notre Dame of Marbel University Senior High School.

Last week, a shanty was also torched by unidentified street children.

Last year, as of March 8, about 10 fire cases were reported by the city fire office.

In Tacurong City, a fire hit a boarding house on Sunday after a ceiling fan was left unattended since Saturday night and overheated until it burst into fire in Barangay Poblacion, the city fire office said.
