Fr. Mina is laid to rest on Sept. 9

DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguindanao -- Fr. Manuel "Manny" Mina of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) who joined his Creator on August 30 will be laid to his final resting place at the OMI cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 9.

The remains of Fr. Mina, more known as "Fr. Manny," is at the OMI House of Postulancy chapel and a daily mass for him is held at 5:30 p.m. 

His burial at the OMI cemetery will come after an 8:30 a.m. mass at the OMI Grotto Auditorium.

Fr. Mina joined his Creator at about 9:05 p.m. at Notre Dame Hospital following a cardiac arrest.

At 70, Fr. Mina, more known among Oblates as "The Formator" having served OMI formation ministry, had been a good cook.

From far away Northern Luzon, he offered his life to Mindanao where he served as parish priest in various assignments.

He dared difficult missions, risking his life to serve the faithful.

Suffering from various illness accompanying 50 years old and above, Fr. Mina refused to surrender and repeatedly asked his superior he be given assignments.
