Friday the 13th highway crash claims 6 lives in Tacurong
TACURONG CITY – Six persons were killed on the spot, including a baby and three children, after a highway mishap involving at least five vehicles along the national highway here before dawn today, Friday the 13th.
Involved in the mishap were a black Mitsubishi Montero, a Toyota Hi-lux pick-up, two tricycles and a motorbike, the Tacurong City PNP said.
At the accident site, six persons lay dead, a woman, a a man and children. Body parts also litter the crash site near Tacurong Fitmart mall and welcome rotonda.
Bogs Jamorabon, city disaster action officer, said the number victims could still increase since there were seriously injured victims rushed by responding disaster workers.
The Tacurong City disaster office identified the fatalities as Najmea Kusain, Juhaiber Mamusaka, 12, Juhaina Mamusaka, 9 years old, Aipa Mamusaka, 2 years old, one-yearold Juhairi Mamusaka, all residents of Barangay Fatima, General Santos city and Atong Ontong, 19, Grade 12 pupil and resident of Poblacion Pres. Quirino, Sultan Kudarat.
Injured and getting medical treatment at various hospitals were tricycle driver Nasser Mamosaka, 33 and resident of Uhaw, Gen. Santos City, Nahib Mamusaka, 5 and Juhaira Mamusaka, 3-years old, couple Ariel Ypil Legada, 23 and Marielle Legada 23, both of Calen, Tacuring City.
Also injured was Dr. Omar Shariff Acob, 29, driver of black Mitsubishi Montero and resident of Pres. Quirino, Sultan Kudarat and Brent Nicole Marohombsar, 20, driver of Toyota Hi-Lux pick-up truck and resident of Tacurong City.
