Christian Standhardinger, is a 6-foot-7 center of German descent showed how hard work paid off by leading Gilas Pilipinas against Chinese Taipei A 88-72 on the on-going Jones Cup.

Standhardinger worked like a horse in all departments, assist, rebound, hassle and scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead Chot Reyes’ wards to its first victory.

But Keifer Ravena and Matthew Wright also did it in as well as Gio Jalalon.

The ponytailed 27-year-old center was in all corners of the court in the second half when Gilas took control of the game.

Wright scored 14 points in the first half to set the shooting tone for the Filipinos.  Gilas played better compared against Canada.

Gilas will face tomorrow Chinese Taipei A at 7 p.m.
