True to its words, Gilas Pilipinas took the ticket to Asian championship by beating Indonesia 97-64 in South East Asian Basketball Association 2017 at the Smart Araneta Thursday.

The Gilas had a clean record leading to winning the SEABA championship for the eight time and assured itself of slot in the "bigger league" more known as Asian championship.

Andray Blatche, Terrence Romeo and Jason Castro teamed up for Gilas to remain undefeated in six outings.

Blatche was 7 of 12 from the field and 4 of 7 from threes to end up with 21 points.

Asian championship begins in August this year.

Coach Chot Reyes's wards did their homework in this one, limiting Indonesia's outside shooting while also controlling the boards and continuing to punish the smaller Indons in the paint.

Blatche saved his best for last in this competition, scoring 21 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and hitting 4 three-pointers.

Jayson Castro, likewise, had his best game of the tournament with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.
