Jolo grenade blast kills 4 civilians, hurt 19

CAMP SK PENDATUN, Maguindanao -- Police in Sulu arrested Saturday night a 22-year old believed to be behind the grenade throwing incident that left four people killed and at least 19 others injured, reports reaching the Police Regional Office in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PRO-ARMM) said.

A report received by Chief Supt. Reuben Sindac, PRO-ARMM regional director, showed the grenade throwing incident occurred at about 7 p.m. in Barangay Busbus, Jolo, Sulu.

For of the civilian victims were pronounced dead on arrival at the Sulu Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO-Hospital)provincial.  They were identified as Imra Hataei, Bebing Jakili, both female and Juding Naning, a male victim.  The fourth fatality remained unidentified as of posting.

Police in Jolo reported that a man, identified as Sedimar Adah, about 22 years old, was arrested following the blast.

Motive of the attack remained unknown.
