Koronadal cops probes deeper on daylight murder of SoCot security officer
KORONADAL CITY - Police authorities here remained clueless on the identity and the motive of a gunman who shot dead member of South Cotabato provincial security unit along GenSan Drive, this city Wednesaday morning.
Radyo Bida Koronadal, in a flash report, said shortly before 7 a.m. Robert Corneta, 42, was driving his white Kia Avella car (GRZ-689) and waiting for traffic lights to turn green heading toward Arellano Avenue when one of two men motorcycle riding suspects (MRS) opened fire on him.
The Koronadal City PNP is yet to issue official statement on the matter.
"The car was motionless with its signal lights blinking for left turn or heading to Arellano Avenue when we heared several gunbursts," a tricycle driver said asking he remained unidentified.
"AFter the shooting, the suspects sped away," he said.
A resident of Bagong Sikat, Barangay GPS, Koronadal City, Corneta was on his job uniform and was to report to his post at the South Cotabato provincial capitol grounds when the shooting occured.
