NDU President now OMI provincial superior

Fr. Charlie Inzon, OMI has been named on Jan. 12, 2018 as OMI superior in the Philippines.

COTABATO CITY -- Father Charlie Inzon, OMI, currently the president of Notre Dame University (NDU) has been named Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI) provincial superior, replacing Fr. Lauro Larry De Guia, OMI. With the consent of his Council meeting in Plenary Session on January 12, 2018, the Superior General has appointedFr. Charlie INZONas Provincial of the Province of the Philippines for the first term, the Oblates said in a statement.The Oblates is yet to announced his formal assumption to office and who will replace him at NDU.Below is the article posted at NDU website about Fr. Inzon when he assumed NDU presidency in 2014:Fr. CHARLIE M. INZON, OMI, PhD was born on November 24, 1965 in Castilla, Sorsorgon, He entered the OMI Juniorate in 1984 and finished his Bachelor of Arts major in Philosophy from Notre Dame University. He holds an MA in Pastoral Ministry and a Doctor of Philosophy in Psychology major in Social Psychology from the Ateneo de Manila University.As a social psychologist, Fr. Inzon has written articles, conducted researches, peer-reviews, lectures and other advocacies.As a peace psychologist, he has published research studies on the Collective Identification of Freedom Fighters in Mindanao, the Shared and Contested Meanings of Bangsamoro and the Social Representations of the Mindanao Conflict according to Christian, Lumad and Muslim leaders. Fr. Inzon has likewise presented these researches in various local and international psychological research conferences such as in the Psychological Association of the Philippines (PAP) annual conventions, the 9th International conference on Social Representations in Indonesia, 11th European Congress of Psychology in Norway, the 12th International Symposium on the Contribution of Psychology in Peace Research in Cyprus and the 9th Biennial Conference of the Asian Association of Social Psychology (AASP) in China the British Psychological Society in Scotland, United Kingdom as well as the Peace Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.As Director of the Peace and Research Center of the Notre Dame of Jolo College from 2007 to 2009, Fr. Inzon has organized various research, advocacy and training programs geared towards educating young people about peace building and good governance in Mindanao and Sulu. He has also coordinated regional dialogues in Sulu in support of the Mindanao peace talks, in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP).From 2010-2014, Fr. Inzon served as President of Notre Dame of Jolo College. As President, he focused on building the capacity of the NDJC community as service oriented professionals who can contribute to improving the lives of peoples in their respective communities.Currently, Fr. Inzon sits as member of the Board of Trustees of the Catholic Educational Association of the Philippines (CEAP), Asian University Digital Resource Network (AUDRN), Notre Dame of Midsayap College (NDMC), Notre Dame of Greater Manila (NDGM), and Notre Dame of Jolo College (NDJC). He is certified by the Psychological Association of the Philippines as Specialist in Social Psychology. He is a member of the American Psychological Association – International Affiliate.Fr. Charlie Malapitan Inzon, OMI, PhD serves as the 8th President of Notre Dame University.
