P210K worth of shabu seized in anti-drug ops in Pigcawayan
PIGCAWAYAN, North Cotabato – Joint anti-narcotic operatives, military and police personnel on Tuesday conducted a raid in Barangay Buricain here to arrest two wanted drug personalities involved in big time drug peddling in North Cotabato.
Director Naravy Duquiatan of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the Soccsksargen region led the 5 a.m. operation along with elements from 34th Infantry Battalion and Pigcawayan Municipal Police Office.
Duquiatan said the law enforcers were to serve search warrants against Abdulsalam Maraguiar and Antolin Akmad, both belonged to a drug group operating in North Cotabato.
However, the suspects were able to elude the arrest.
Seized from the of Maraguiar during the search operation was one sachet of Methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu amounting to about P43,044 while confiscated at the residence of Akmad were four medium sachets shabu with an estimated cost of P170,896.
Cases for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165 otherwise known as The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects who remain-at-large.
