ISULAN, Sultan Kudarat -- The Army's 33rd Infantry Battalion had presented to Sultan Kudarat Gov. Pax Mangudadatu some of the communist rebels who voluntarily surrendered to military authorities in Sultan Kudarat.

Lt. Colonel Harold Cabunoc, 33rd Infantry Battalion chief, said the former communist rebels, mostly indigenous peoples, who operated in Sen. Ninoy Aquino in Sultan Kudarat received financial aid from the provincial government.

Mangudadatu chairs the CLIP (Comprehensive Local Integration Program) Committee.

Gov. Mangudadatu granted P20,000.00 to each of the former NPA rebels who have surrendered with their arms.

More cash incentives and livelihood assistance package are also granted by the government through the CLIP.

Thirty two members of the communist Guerilla Front 73 have laid down their arms since May 2017.

Cabunoc said the 33rd IB has combined civil support operations, combat operations, and information support affairs in winning the support of the people in conflict-affected areas.
