US basketball team wins Rio gold

As expected, the United States of America men's basketball teamcaptured the gold in Rio Olympics after routing Serbia 96-66 on Sunday, on line reports said.It remained unbeaten and on Sunday,Kevin Durant scored 30 points while DeMarcus Cousins contributed 13 points and 15 rebounds.The US team also honoredforward Carmelo Anthony who becamethe first man to win three Olympic basketball gold medals.He joined the2004 USA team that settled for bronze but returned for 2008 and 2012 triumphs. Carmelo said he hasplans to play in 2020 at Tokyo.
