COTABATO CITY - The leadership of the Bangsamoro Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) and Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) today announced its strong support to President Duterte’s choice of the country’s next leaders.

Statement of Sen. Bong Go after filing COC for vice president

Good afternoon!

Given that President Rodrigo Duterte decided to withdraw his acceptance of nomination, I am here to take on the challenge as PDP-Laban’s Vice Presidential candidate.

Go: Obviously fake news, sayang oras kung patulan

Bong Go's priority is "continuity" when supporting 2022 candidates

As the election season nears, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go said that he will consider and prioritize the continuity of President Rodrigo Duterte’s legacy in supporting and selecting the country’s next leaders and has urged Filipinos to do the same.

“It has never been more crucial for every Filipino to participate in our democratic process as we prepare for our next elections. The good news is that we have time to evaluate and consider who will lead our country for the next six years,” said Go.

Go favors limited use of face shields only to high risk activities

MANILA - Senator and Senate Committee on Health Chairman Christopher “Bong” Go expressed his support for a proposal to limit the use of face shields to only high-risk activities, adding that government should strike a careful balance between safety, comfort and economic considerations when recalibrating its COVID-19 pandemic policies.

Proposed Teacher Education Excellence Act passed on 2nd reading: Senator Win says

SEN. Sherwin Gatchalian today expressed hope the Senate will soon pass one of his major legislation that will benefit the teachers across the country.

On Tuesday, the Senate passed on second reading his proposed Teacher Education Excellence Act (TEEC).

"Pasado na po sa ikalawang pagbasa ang Teacher Education Excellence Act. Sa panukalang ito, maitataas natin ang kalidad ng edukasyon at kasanayan ng ating mga guro," Gatchalian said in a statement.

Go hits back at critics, calls for fairness and respect from senators

DAVAO CITY -- After his colleagues questioned the qualifications of appointed officials of the Duterte administration, Senator Christopher "Bong" Go emphasized that President Rodrigo Duterte has the prerogative being the appointing authority as provided by law.

In a privilege speech, Go cited President Duterte who, during his Talk to the People address on Tuesday morning, said that he has the authority to appoint individuals he put trust into government positions.

Rep. Salceda pushes Sen. Gatchalian to seek Mayor Sara's running mate if she runs

Among vice presidential hopefuls who have already come forward, it was Senator Win Gatchalian as the “most qualified” for the post.

This is according to Albay A 2nd District Representative Joey Salceda.

Salceda, an economist, said the country needs an economist in the person of Sen. Gatchalian.

Salceda said Senator Gatchalian is the perfect partner for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte if she decides to run for the presidency next year.

Sen. Poe wants Duque suspended

TO MAKE THINGS clearer, Sen. Grace Poe has sought Health Secretary Francisco Duque's suspension after state auditors found "deficiencies" in his department's handling of P67.32 billion in pandemic funds.

Poe noted that last year Ombudsman Samuel Martires ordered the preventive suspension of eight Philippine Health Insurance Corp. executives and five DOH officials for alleged irregularities on the use of pandemic funds.

This time, Senator Poe said DOH underspent 31 percent of pandemic funds.

Residents ask Comelec to probe Maguindanao floating ballot box

COTABATO CITY  – Residents of a remote Maguindanao town have asked the Commission on Elections to probe the discovery of a mysterious ballot box with election documents for the May 13 elections.

“We ask the Comelec to investigate it, this is clearly a proof there was cheating in last month’s election here in Datu Salibo,” Sam Esmael said in an interview.

Sam Esmael, a resident of Datu Salibo, Maguindanao, said today that the poll body should invalidate the proclamation of winners in Datu Salibo election until after the investigation.
