1 dead, 9 injured in Zamboanga City blast

ZAMBOANGA CITY (PNA) -– One person died while nine others were injured when an improvised bomb exploded late Thursday at a massage parlor in this city.Senior Supt. Angelito Casimiro, Zamboanga City police director, said the incident occurred around 9:45 p.m. at a massage parlor at the junction of M. Calixto and San Jose Road just more than 100 meters away from the Zamboanga City Fire District (ZCFD) headquarters.Casimiro said the victim who died is only identified as a certain Irene. She expired at the Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).Casimiro said the other nine victims were also rushed to the ZCMC for treatment.He said the explosive ordnance demolition personnel are still sifting the blast site to determine the type of bomb that exploded.
