3 die in Maguindanao town strafing incident
COTABATO CITY – Unidentified gunmen, armed with cal. 60 machine gun, strafed a
house in a remote village in Pandag, Maguindanao that left three persons were
killed, including a pregnant woman, while two others were hurt, police said
today.
Interviewed by DXMS Radyo Bida,Chief Insp. Nolie
Sudaria, Pandag town police chief, said in an interview that the armed men
strafed with machine gun and assault rifles the house of Marco Mamaco, caretaker
of Narciso Farm in Barangay Kayupo at 6:45 p.m. Monday.
The motive remained
unknown, we are still investigating,” Sudaria said in a radio interview. Even
the farm owner could not say why his farm workers were attacked,” he added.
Killed were Mamaco’s
pregnant wife Emran Raja Buayan Mamaco, 27, her one year old daughter Bai Mayan
and Bimbo Mamaco, 30.

Mama, 28 and Norshid Dalgan, 3,
Sudaria said
the victims were inside the house taking dinner when gunmen arrived and opened
fire. Mamaco managed to drop but his
unsuspecting family members were hit.
Responding
police officers, Sudaria said,recovered scores of empty shells for cal. 60 machine gun and
M-16 Armalite rifle.
We are looking at
family feud as the reason of the attack but we have no conclusion yet,” Sudaria
said, adding investigators are still waiting for statements from survivors, expected after the mourning days are over.
