600 indigents avail of N. Cotabato medical, dental services
COTABATO CITY – More than 600
villagers, including senior citizens, have availed of the medical dental mission
extended by the North Cotabato provincial government in the town of Kabacan over the weekend.The indigents also availed of dental consultation,
tooth extraction, eye screening, and blood tests such as random blood sampling
(RBS) and complete blood count (CBC) under the Unlad Pangkalusugan Program” of
North Cotabato Gov. Governor Emmylou Lala” J. Taliño-Mendoza.
In a statement to DXND Radyo Bida, the media affairs unit of Office of the Provincial Governor, said ateam from the Integrated Provincial Health Office
(IPHO) conducted the outreach program in partnership with the local government
unit (LGU) of Kabacan and University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Hospital.
Health providers from USM Hospital participated in the activity.
Another team of volunteers from Care Channels
International, a non-profit organization that helps poor and less fortunate
communities, brought with them various vitamins and medicines given to the
beneficiaries based on the doctor’s recommendation.
The LGU’s rural health unit also distributed
information and education campaign materials on dengue prevention while the
local Philippine National Police initiated a supplemental feeding for children.
