Another Maguindanao massacre suspect falls
COTABATO CITY – Another suspect in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre was arrested by joint Army and police authorities on Sunday in Maguindanao, police said.
Chief Supt. Jimmy Daza, regional head of Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Central Mindanao (CIDG-CENMIN), identified the arrested suspect as
Malaguial Tanuri.
Joint police and military personnel arrested Tanuri in Barangay Poblacion, Abdullah Sangki, Maguindanao at about 4 p.m. Sunday on th basis of an arrest warrant issued by Quezon City Judge Jocelyn Solis Reyes.
Daza said Tanuri assumed the alias Johari and has been driving a pedicab in Abdulla Sangki town.
Daza said Tanuri did not resist arrest. When arresting agents presented him the photos of Maguindanao massacre suspects and asked if it was him, Tanuri appeared puzzled and wondered why his photo was there.
He vehemently denied involvement in the Nov. 23, 2009 carnage.
Tanuri is now in the custody of CIDG-12 and will soon be transferred to Camp Bagong Diwa. With Tanuri's arrest, the number of suspects behind bars now stands at110. About 88 others remained at large.(Ferdinand Cabrera)
