Army condemns NPAs for killing N. Cotabato farmer
KIDAPAWAN CITY - The Army's 57th Infantry Battalion has condemned the atrocities committed by the New Peoples Army in Barangay Lama-Lama, Upper President Roxas, North Cotabato Monday.Lt. Colonel Jose Rustia, 57th IB commander, said the NPAs executed defenseless farmer Alvin Enca after he was suspected of helping the military in its peace and development program in the hinterlands. It was a clear violation of human rights of Enca, Rustia said, adding that the same human rights violation was committed by the NPAs when they killed Joel Gulmatico on suspicion of being an Army informant. They were not working with us, on the basis of suspicion they were executed by the NPAs, Rustia said of the attackers, led by Commanders Amman and Jecko of NPA Front 72.
