Awang Airport resumes flight operations, airline companies to serve Cot-Manila route starting next month

BALIK OPERASYON na ang Cotabato City Airport, simula kahapon, Sabado ayon sa anunsyo ng Department of Transportation Philippines o DOTr.  

Ito'y matapos makumpleto ng DPWH ang ilang buwang repair ng runway nito.

Maalalang nitong June 21, 2023 ng inanunsyo ng Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) na bawal muna gamitin ang runway dahil hindi ito ligtas.

Kaagad namang naglaan ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) ng P340 million na pondo sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) para sa Asphalt Overlay ng Cotabato Airport runway.

Natapos ng DPWH nitong August 17 ang Asphalt Overlay kaya't simula kahapon 7AM to 11:59AM nagsimula na ang normal na operasyon ng airport.

AS pahayag ng mga airline company, kailangan nila ng window period para sa booking ng mga pasahero kayat posibleng sa Setyembre pa o Oct. 1 babalik ang commercial flights mula Cotabato airport patungong Cebu, Manila at Tawi-Tawi.
