Child dies after falling into burning rice husks in S. Cotabato

NORALA, South Cotabato - A five year old boy has died adue to third degree burns all over his body afterhe fell to a burning rice husks in a remote village here Sunday morning, authorities said.Police identified the child, who was pronounced dead on arrival at a hospital, as Ian Dave Estorque Morante, resident of Limpin Subdivision, Purok Mercado Rizal, Barangay Poblacion, Norala, South Cotabato. Norala PNP said the child was with another child his age harvesting vegetables in a rice field. The companion told police she did not notice Ian Dave went to the mountain-pile of rice husk which was burning.She later found him in the middle of burning rice husks.
