Cops remain clueless on men behind Lucas murder
COTABATO CITY - Police investigators remained clueless on the identities and motive of the murder of a former village chair of Cotabato City on Friday last week.Senior Supt. Rex Anongos, city police director, said the family of Anwar Lucas, former village chair of Rosary Heights 10, was yet to issue statement to police investigators. Any statement from the family could help our investigators, Anongos told DXMS Radyo Bida Cotabato. He added investigators are also asking establishments near the crime scene to lend CCTV footage to help identify the perpetrators.Lucas was driving a multicab along Sinsuat Avenue, Cotabato City on Friday afternoon amid heavy traffic and heavy downpour from the city public market when shot. Two men riding tandem on a motorbike appeared on the driver's side of the vehicle and opened fire using cal. 45 pistol.He was declared dead on arrival at the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center.Former Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin Sema condemned the killing of Lucas, one of his supporters, expressing hope the police will do its job.Sema hoped thekilling of Lucas will not end up as among the rising statistics of crime against life in Cotabato City. He added shooting incidentwas becoming a normal thing in the cityand authorities not doing enough.Meanwhile, police also remained clueless on the identities ofsuspects in the brutal murder of Mohammad Sapalon Kusain, 26 of Barangay Kalanganan 1, Cotabato City.Kusain was beheaded by still unidentified suspects and his remains was found in Purok Silangan, Barangay Datu Balabaran on Friday night.
