Cotabato City PNP to recall police escorts of VIPs

COTABATO CITY -- SeniorSupt. Rex Anongos, city police director, today said PNP Director Gen. Ricardo Marquez has issued a directive to all police units nationwide to recall all police escorts of politicians and VIPs.Speaking to DXMS Radyo Bida , Anongos admitted that police escorts of politicians and VIPs could not be recalled immediately because many of the personalities these police officers provide securtiy have threats to life. However, he said concerned politicians and individuals have been officially informed of the new PNP directive which will be implemented fully in the coming days.Anongos reiterated Marquez statement that these police escorts should be on the streets to focus more on crime prevention and maintaining law and order.The PNP leadership is finalizing Police 101 which means more police officers on the streets, especially in crime prone areas.Civilian workers, known as Non Uniformed Personnel, are doing the administrative works in PNP office to let active police officers work in the field.
