Cotabato Light lifts rotational brownout

COTABATO CITY - Power supply for Cotabato Light and Power Company franchise area has been normalized after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP)Tacurong Sub-Station technical problem has been addressed, Cotabato Light today said. Please be advised that NGCP Tacurong 69KV line has been energized at 6:51 p.m. Monday. No rotational interruption is expected tonight, the Cotabato Light said in a statement. However, this may still change or be cancelled depending on NGCP allocation, Cotabato Light power plantcapability and behavior of the demand, the statement said.Power supply from NGCP station inKibawe, Bukidnon to Kabacan and Simuay sub-stations had been cut on Friday night after unidentified men bombed Transmission Towers44 and 45 in Barangay Batulawan, Pikit, North Cotabato.Since then, Maguindanao electric cooperative and Cotabato Light had been getting power supply from Tacurong sub-station. On Monday morning, the Tacurong sub station experienced break down, cutting power supply to Cotabato Light and Magelco.Without alternate supply, Cotabato Light ran its diesel-fed engines and implemented rotational brown out.When supply from Tacurong sub-station was normalized early Monday evening, power outage was lifted.
