DAR employee dies, Surallah lady worker hurt in highway mishap

BANGA, South Cotabato – A government employee was killed while
another government worker was seriously wounded when the motorcycle they were
riding collided with a pick-up vehicle along the national highway in Barangay
Liwanay, Banga, South Cotabato last night.

Celedonio Sevilla Lamprea, 44, employee of Department of
Agrarian Reform (DAR) and resident of Barangay Rizal, Banga was declared dead
on arrival at the hospital in Koronadal City while his lady friend, Christine
Catague Pinas, 24, an employee of Surallah local government unit and resident
of Barangay Libertad, Surallah, South Cotabato, was critically wounded.

Investigation conducted by Banga traffic unit showed the victims
were on board a Suzuki Raider 150 motorbike when it collided with a white Isuzu
pick-up at past 7 p.m. Tuesday. The motorbike hit
the driver side of the pick-up vehicle driven by Antonio Aller Aquino Jr, 42
of Gen. Santos City. It was owned by Gen.
Santos City based Euro Hydro Power Holdings company.

Police took custody of Aquino and the pick-up vehicle.
