Dinner eve for CIOFF participants turn into dance show time
KORONADAL CITY - The Department of Toursim (DOT-12) on Thursday night sponsored a dinner evening and gala night for Piyesta Kolondatal participants to the Koronadal City International Folklore Festival which turned out to be like TV's Show Time. The dinner turned into a dance show as foreign and local participants took turns on center stage to introduce dance steps, according to Nelly Dillera, DOT-12 regional director. To the tune of 'It's more fun in the Philippines' promotional music,representatives of the delegates from nine countries and seven localgroups, took turn on center stage to introduce dance steps as if one trying to outdo others, Dillera said. Everyone on stage and on the floor learn new grooves, Dillera said, adding that the extemporaneous dance show was spearheaded by the SOCCSKSARGEN tourism officers who also performed the nowfamed beat. While a number had difficulty speaking English, it was obvious they understood each other through the language of dance, Dillera said as she invited the public to witness various cultures shows until August 18 that includePocket Performances, Lecture Demo, Tree Growing, Matinee and Gala Shows. It was a night full of fun, a memorable evening, she said.
