DTI-12 employees bag loyalty, performance awards

KORONADAL CITY -- Six employees of the Department of Trade and Industry in Region 12 received special citations for their active involvement in activities meant to hasten Central Mindanao's economic growth.Ibrahim Guiamadel, director of DTI-12,on Mondaysaid his six subordinates received their citations last Friday during a symbolic rite in Koronadal City.Noel Eiman, Aiza Marie Bercades, Ma. Theresa Chua, Ethel Laksmi Gumana, Leonard Flores and Cheryl Marie Cipriano were ranked as DTI-12’s best top performers” according to efficiency in discharging their respective duties.Eiman was cited for being a hardworking driver of DTI in its provincial office in Sultan Kudarat province.Bercades is a trade and industry development specialist in South Cotabato while Flores and Gumana, both chief trade and industry development specialists, and Chua, a supervising trade and industry development specialist, are all based in the DTI regional office here.The 51-year-old Chua helped establish functional linkages between the DTI and various business groups in Cotabato City, including local blocs of Muslim entrepreneurs.Cipriano, who is a senior trade and industry development specialist, had also been nominated to the department’s forthcoming nationwide search for best employees, dubbed the Huwarang DTI 2014.”The DTI regional awardees and the nominees for national awards were chosen based on their performance in 2014.Cipriano was chosen from among several DTI-12 nominees in a regional screening last month.Thursday’sawarding rites for top performing DTI-12 employees was part of the activities related to the commemoration this year of the department’s 34thfounding anniversary.Also cited as the region’s top performers, next to the best top performers, were DTI-12’s Teresa Laud, Edgar Soguilon, and Cornelio Quijano, who are based in Sarangani, Gen. Santos City, and North Cotabato, respectively.Guiamadel said nine DTI-12 staffers received loyalty awards for unbroken service over long periods - Honorato Maquiling (10 years), Hazel Hautea (19 years), Arnel Layda (20 years), and 25-year civil servants Marilou Manaay, Robert Orfrecio, Imelda Salvador, Elaine Nita Ferolino, and Rictoniel Regino.Gumana, who had received a best top performer citation, also received a loyalty award for having been with DTI for 25 years now.Five more DTI-12 employees, assistant regional director Dorecita Delima, Vanessa Claire Plena, Gumana and Cipriano were named together as most innovative group” for having been efficient members of the region’s National Economic Research and Business Assistance Center.Guiamadel said the grant of special awards and citations to deserving DTI-12 employees was part of the department’s System Performance Rewards and Incentives (SPRints) program.The SPRints initiative is meant to encourage proficiency and maintain continuing delivery of high quality service by DTI personnel to clients.
