FLASHand Cops arrest 2 suspects in Koronadal's Agencia Brillantes 2014 robbery
KORONADAL CITY -- Police authorities here announced the arrest in Sultan Kudarat provinceof two more suspects in the daring Agencia Brillantes robbery with murderhere almost a year ago.Senior Supt. Nestor Salcedo, Koronadal City police director, told DXOM-AM Radyo Bida Koronadal , the two suspects were arrested in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat Thursday afternoon with the help of South CotabatoHighway Patrol Group and Isulan police office. Salcedo withheld the identities of the arrested suspects and how they were arrested due to on going follow up operations against two other perpetrators.The robbery incident that happened on September 18, 2014was clearly captured by the store's CCTV cameraswent viral in the social media.Few days later,Khadaffi Guiamelon, believed to be the gang leader, was arrested in Cotabato City while another suspect,Misuari Bansil, was arrested in Lutayan, Sultan Kudarat months later.Two security guards were killed, two other guards and two minors were wounded when six armed men robbed a pawnshop at past 12:30 p.m. on September 18.Salcedo said the gunmen arrived on three motorcycles and parked beside the Agencia Brillantes pawnshop along Osmenia Street, Koronadal City.Then they barged inside the pawnshop and shot dead security guard Joan Lazaga. Another security guard, Aron Tamayo assigned at Fitmart Department Store responded but he too was shot dead.Wounded were security guards Noel Villaroel of Agencia Brillantes and Alfredo Pagaringan of Ace Centerpoint department store. Also wounded during the shootout between the robbers and security guards were twominors, aged 14 and 17.Before fleeing the crime scene, the suspects tossed a hand grenade but it did not explode.Bomb experts later detonated the ordnance.Quoting witnesses, Salcedo said one of the suspects was wounded during shootout with security guards.The daylight robbery was a daring attempt by gunmen since the pawnshop was located in the city’s commercial district.A CCTV footage gave the police vital information in pursuing the suspects.
