Girl, 19 found dead in Polomolok plantation
KORONADAL CITY - A woman believed to have been sexually assaulted was found dead in a pomelo plantation in Polomolok, South Cotabato, police said.DXOM-AM Radyo Bida Koronadal, quoting Polomolok PNP, identified the victim as Analy Toni, 19 of Purok Maglante, Barangay Landan.Police said the remains, when found, showed signs the girl was raped. She also has injuries in her neck.A witness, Ronelo Paras,told police he,Toni and Tawo were in a drinking spree at the town public market.Paras and Toni, both already under the influence of liquor,went home together but Tao allegedly told him to return to the market for he will accompany the victim home.Another witness, Norma Panaligan, store owner where the drinking spree took place, corroborated Paras' statement.Panaligan and village Tanod Donacarl Donaso saw Toni and Tao heading toward the pomelo planation where the Toni's dead body was found the morning after.Tao, now detained at police station lock up cell,admitted to police investigators he killed Toni.In T'boli, South Cotabato, 21-year-old Titong Simpal was stabbed by his step father in Barangay Falcon Wednesday.Police said the stepfather, Reynaldo Labrador, 45, was drinking with a neighbor when he engaged in an argument with his sister.During the argument, Simpal reportedly pacified his father but was stabbed instead. He was rushed to South Cotabato provincial hospital but was declared dead on arrival.Labrador remained at large.
