Gunmen shot dead lady trader in Awang, Maguindanao
DATU ODIN SINSUAT, Maguinanao – Police authorities here
remained clueless as to the motive behind the murder of a businesswoman on
Thursday night in Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat (DOS), Maguindanao.
Senior Insp. Lindsay Sinsuat, DOS town police chief, told DXMS-AM Radyo Bida investigators are still facing a blank wall on the motive and identity of
two men who posed as customers of the victim’s convenience store before the
shooting.
Initial investigation showed the two suspects were
among the few people inside the mini-mart in Tenorio area at past 7 p.m. The two gunmen first entered the store then
moved out only to return with a gun.
One of the suspects first shot Joel Hampac, the
victim’s husband, but Joel managed to avoid the attacker. The gunman turned to
Josephine, 52.
Josephine sustained gunshots wound in the head and
body. She was rushed to the hospital but
was declared dead on arrival.
The incident occurred in front of other customers.
