Indian in lending business found dead in N. Cotabato town
KIDAPAWAN CITY --A 27-year old Indian national was found dead in a sugar plantation in a remote village in Matalam, North Cotabato Thursday, police said today. Chief Inspector Elias Colonia, municipal police station in Matalam, identified the victim as Ranjit Singh Brar, a national from Langiana Khurd, Bagha Kurana district in Moga Punjab in India. Brar was identified by a relative. Colonia said the victim was choked to death using a tight rope as evidenced by bruises in his neck. Investigators hinted Brar’s murder was a victim of hold-up/robbery. Brar was doing lending business in Kidapawan City and in other parts of North Cotabato. The victim’s body was found at 7 a.m.in a sugar plantation owned by Tobias Nicor located in Sitio F. Valdeviezo, Barangay New Bugasong in Matalam. Investigators are still clueless on the identities of the suspects.
