Jail congestion rate sa BARMM bumaba ng 44 percent

COTABATO CITY— Mula sa dating 265% congestion rate noong Enero ngayong taon, bumaba na ito sa 221% nitong Hunyo batay sa ulat ng Bureau of Jail Management and Penology o BJMP.

Ayon kay BARMM BJMP Regional Director Jail Chief Supt. Amado Concepcion, ang pagluwag ng mga jail facilities sa rehiyon ay dahil na rin sa mga itinayong bagong pasilidad ng pamahalaan sa nakalipas na dalawang taon.

Kabilang na dito ang Malabang District Jail, Wao Municipal Jail at magiging operational na rin ang Datu Odin Sinsuat District Jail at New Marawi City Jail.

Ang Marawi City Jail ang siyang magiging high-risk facility o kulungan para sa mga high profile inmates sa rehiyon.

Habang nananatiling hamon ang masikip na correctional facilities sa bansa, tiniyak ng jail bureau na patuloy ang kanilang pagsisikap na matugunan ang nasabing problema para sa kapakanan ng mga Persons Deprived of Liberty o PDL na siksikan sa kanilang kulungan.
