Kidapawan City all set for Timpupo and Fruit Festival

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Organizers of this year's fruit parade and Kasadya saTimpupo (Fruit Harvest)Festival announced today the first ever Search for Binibining Kalikasan 2015 and other activities. True to the search, the candidates will be using recyclable materials in their respetive pageant attires. Other highlights of the activity is the fruit parade where various fruits, including exotic fruits grown only in Kidapawan City. It will feature various fruit floats and mascots from 40 villages of the city.A P15,000 cash reward await the best float while the best costumed delegates will also get cash awards. During the festival, a fruit pavilion will feature various fruits to be displaced at the Negosyo Center located a the city plaza. On August 19, Pinoy games will take center stage during the Barangay Fun games. In the evening is the most awaited Search for Binibining Kalikasan. On August 20, a tribal parade to be participated by several tribal groups, includinig street dancing, kanta at sayaw like the famous war dance and traditional games.Business matching will be taking place among fruit vendors at the Kidapawan City Convention Center.Other activities include fruit preservation demonstration training, color run-night-run and live band presentation. On August 22, a costume and street dancing competition will begin the culminating day A P50,000 cash prize away the winner of the costume/thematic parade while P30,000 and P20,000cash prizes will go to second and thirdrunner up, respectively.The famous Timpupo festival is revived five years after it was cancelled by the city government for still unknown reason. Spearheading the events is the office of the city tourism.
