Kidapawan legislator files 35 bills denies it was politically motivated
KIDAPAWAN CITY -A legislator here passed at least 35 proposed ordinances just in time for his 35thbirthday on Wednesday. Councilor Jivy Roe Bombeo who chairs the committee on transportation of theSangguniang Panglungsodfiled the proposals at the office of the secretary to the city council at 10 a.m. Bombeo stressed the filing was not politically-motivated even if it was done just a week before he files his certificate of candidacy (CoC) at the Commission on Elections. This was not a papogi point or to make me look good to people,” he explained. Bombeo is seeking re-election in 2016. He said he has yet to do further study of these proposals before he files them at thecity council. I just found it timing to file these proposals just in time for my 35thbirthday,” said the councilor. Among those proposals he deemed urgent were geared on improving the transport sector in the city, especially on imposing speed limits to all vehicles plying along the national highway. Bombeo said the filing of the speed limit ordinance was sensible, timely, and very appropriate especially so that the number of vehicular accidents that transpired along this route has increased to at least 50 percent. From January to August this year, at least 107 road accidents were recorded as compared to 63 in 2014.
