Magnitude 6.1 quake hits Davao Occidental, Saranggani

COTABATO CITY - A magnitude 6.1 earthquake hit Davao Occidental and Saranggani provincesWednesday morning, the Philippine Institute on Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said in a news bulletin issued today.The quake which was tectonic in origin was recorded at 9:18 a.m. with its epicenter traced 155 kilometers south of Saranggani.It has a depth of 312 kilometers, Phivolcs said, adding that it was not felt by humans. No casualties or injuries were reported.No aftershocks are expected, Phivolcs said.
