My ministry as an Oblate hospital chaplain
PRECIOUS
MOMENTS OF FAITH
Here's
a picture which expresses the joy I feel in my present ministry with our brothers
and sisters who are patients in hospitals and clinics in Cotabato City -- Christians,
Muslims, Indigenous Peoples, others.
I
share doing this grace-filled ministry with Bishop Colin Bagaforo, DD, Fr. Lino
Razon, OMI, Fr. Simeon Samson, DCC, the Sisters Siervas dela Virgen dela Paz, and
some other Diocesan and Oblate priests in Cotabato. I am very grateful to them
for allowing me to be part of this ministry.
Most
of our patients are the poorest in the region.
And
so many of them are the most inspiring as they battle for survival, healing,
LIFE -- moved on by their lively Faith in the One GOD of us ALL!
It
is amazing how trustingly we meet as brothers and sisters in the Presence of
God Who alone can provide for our direst needs!
In
the pictureand As her husband anxiously looks on, a seriously ill Muslim patient
holds my hand very tightly as, upon her request, I was praying for her healing.
And
then with heart-warming confidence she assures meand Insha Allah, Pader,
kaulian ako bun! (If it be God's Will, I will get well soon!)
Our
two Faith Experiences met at those precious moments in the heart of the
Rahmanir Raheem, the God of Mercy and Compassion.
