PDEA, cops file charges vs. 2 suspected illegal drug suppliers
MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato, -- Police and anti-narcotics agents filed charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 against two persons arrested during illegal drug buy bust operation here Friday morning, authorities said today. Charged were Bainot Alamada, 33 and Bona Usman Ali, 35, both residents of Barangay Poblacion 7, Midsayap, North Cotabato. Armed with an arrest warrants issued by Judge Arvin Balagot of Regional Trial Court Branch 17 in Kidapawan City, police and elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-ARMM) were to arrest Dido Alamada, alias Datu Dido. As the agents and police operatives raided Alamada's house at 4 a.m. Friday, he managed to escape using a motorcycle. But authorities arrested Alamada's wife, Bainot and another woman inside the house. The raiding team recovered seven sachets of suspected shabu, cash amounting to Php29,100 and a notebook containing the names of the couple's regular clients for illegal drugs.Alamada and Ali are now detained at Midsayap police lock-up cell.
