PH men's volleyball team demolished Thailand, faces Indonesia for gold on Dec. 10
MANILA - The Philippine men's volleyball team today demolished defending SEA Games champion Thailand in five sets and earned the slot for gold against Indonesia.
Thailand was up in the first four sets until the Philippines, led by team stars Marck Espejo, Bryan Bagunas and the fast-rising Joshua Retamar turned the tide against the defending champion through tough defense and fluid offense to earned the right to fight the Indons.
Regardless of what happens next, the RP squad has already clinched its best finish in the last 14 years. But the RP squad are resting on their laurels just yet as the quest for gold medal is still up.
Homecourt advantage was a big help as the RP players never gave up even an inch when the Thais was at a set point in set 5.
