Poe, Chiz and LP senatoriables file COCs

MANILA - Independent presidential and vice presidential candidates,Senator Grace Poe and Sen. Chiz Escudero, respectively, filed their certificates of candidacy at the Comelec central office in Manila at 3:15 p.m. Thursday.Also today, majority of the senatorial candidates of the administration party, Liberal Party (LP) have already filed their Certificates of Candidacy (CoC) at the Commission on Elections (Comelec) main office in Manila.Senatorial aspirants Interior and Local Government Assistant Secretary for Muslim Affairs and special concerns Nariman Ambolodto, Coop-Natco Partylist Rep. Cresente Paez, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and reelectionist Teofisto TG” Guingona III filed their CoCs on Thursday, the fourth-day of the filing period.De Lima was accompanied by her mother while TG was with his wife and father, former Vice President Teofisto Guingona when they filed their CoCs Thursday afternoon.The former Justice Secretary asked for the support of the electorate in her bid for a higher office. Ituloy laban bantayan ang kaban ng bayan.”The other LP bets that have submitted their CoC included former rehabilitation czar Panfilo Ping” Lacson former PhilHealth head Risa Hontiveros Senate President Franklin Drilon former food security adviser Francis Kiko” Pangilinan and re-electionist Ralph Recto.The party’s two other senate bets, outgoing Technical Education and Skills Development Authority director Joel Villanueva and former Energy secretary Jericho Petilla have yet to file their CoCs.Meanwhile, jueteng whistle blower Sandra Cam and lawyer Lorna Kapunan were among those who filed their CoCs seeking for senatorial seats on Thursday.Cam is running under the Partido ng Masang Pilipino, while Kapunan is representing Aksyon Demokratiko, a party founded by late Sen. Raul Roco.
