Polomolok hauls search for cleanest, greenest town awards
KORONADAL CITY -- The town of Polomolok in South Cotabato hauled most of the awards in this year's Search for Cleanest and Greenest municipality, the provincial government announced.The awarding was on the first day of 16thT’nalak Festival
and Foundation Anniversary Friday.A P800,000 cash reward were given to the Polomolok local government for winning the Cleanest and Greenest Municipality contest in South Cotabato.Polomolok also received special awards like Best Public Market, Best Material Recovery Facility, Best Plaza and Parks, Best in Community Garden and Best Public Toilet. The local government unit received P7,000 for each special awards.Surallah, last year's cleanest and greenest municipality fell to second place this year and received P500,000 prize.Surallah also received P30,000 for winning Best roadside beautification award while the village of Moloy was adjudged best barangay and given P30,000 cash.Third place went toTupi. It received P300,000 cash.Norala town was adjudged Most Improved Municipality.South Cotabato Gov. Daisy Avance-Fuentes said the awarding done in line with province foundation anniversary to show to the people of South Cotabato how important the campaign to protect surroundings and the environment.
