Pres. Roxas mayor to PNPand Stop and solve killings

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Mayor Jaime Mahimpit of President Roxas, North Cotabato has directed the local police office to identify, arrest and file charges against those responsible in the murder of a village councilman the other day.For Mahimpit, the murder of Kagawad Wendel Gasete of Barangay Ilustre can never be justified. He was among the few good leaders of President Roxas, he was hard working and dedicated public servant, Mahimpit said of Gasete, who chairs the village council committee on peace and order.Police said Gesate was shot while heading for home after a village amateur singing contest on Monday night.Gunmen shot him at past 11 p.m.To date, the police remained clueless on the identities of the suspect and the motive.Gasete was also a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit in the village.Mahimpit was also alarmed by the spate of killings in remote villages of Pres. Roxas in the past few weeks.Earlier, Alvin Embac, a village tanod in Barangay Lama-Lama was also shot dead.Mahimpit told the President Roxas PNP he wanted results as soon as possible, saying the police should stop and solve these killings.
