Role models? 2 Magpet teachers face admin charges

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Teachers are model of righteousness and learning and anything they do, more often than not, remainin the minds and hearts of their students.But two male teachers ofMagpet, North Cotabato are not models for many parents and education officials.Under the influence of liquor,two male teachers reportedly showed up inApostol Memorial Central Elementary School (AMCES) in BarangayPoblacion, Magpet, North Cotabato last week during the District Level Sports festival. As a result, they were grounded by the Magpet West district supervisor.North Cotabato schools division superintendent Omar Obas does not find it funny. The two teachers were not identified in the report but they were known among school teachers in North Cotabato division. Obas formed a special committee to investigate further because he found the penalty very light. What they have done, if proven, has tainted the image of professional teachers and the school, Obas said.The committee, Obas said, will submit recommendation to his office as soon as possible and administrative charges will be filed against the teachers. To give them a lesson, they will be reassigned outside the districtwhile the investigation is going on, he added.
