KORONADAL CITY - A highway in Banga, South Cotabato known as accident prone has claimed another life after two motorcycles collided head on Friday night, authorities said. Killed due to head and body injuries was Julius Aspa, 43, resident of Banga while his back rider, Christopher Asong, 27 was seriously wounded. Aspa was driving his Honda RS 125 motorbike along the highway in Barangay Liwanay when his bike collided head on with another motorbike driven by Joey de Guira, 25 of Barangay Kusan, also in Banga. Aspa who sustained serious head injuries was declared dead on arrival at a hospital. Guira, the driver of another vehicle, was unharmed. Police has repeatedly reminded motorists to slow down or drive with extra care as the portion of the highway was takaw aksidente or prone to accident. Rescuers retrieved the remains of Gloaldo Dionson of Barangay New Dumanggas, T'boli, South Cotabato. It took police and villagers four hours of searching before they found the remains if Dionson Thursday afternoon. Police later learned that Dionson tried to cross the river despite rampaging water due to heavy downpour. As he crossed, he was taken away by water and drowned. Rescuers fished out Dionson at a riverbank in Sitio Dalia, Barangay Edwards, T'boli.
