Suaraand Aquino gov't full of lies, lip services and HR abuses
COTABATO CITY – Militant groups here call for a stop to human rights violations which they claimed remained rampant during President Aquino’s term. Bearing placards and streamers narrating the abuses committed against human rights in the country, the militant group, led by Suara Bangsamoro, the group marched through major city streets here toward the city plaza. In particular, the group blamed one of the many human rights abuses of state forces to the government. The group was referring to the missing environmentalist John Calaba, a Manobo anti-logging and anti-mining advocate. He went missing last Aprilwhile in the company of para-military troops securing the logging area of Consunji logging firm in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.Jerome Sucor Abas, Suara spokesperson, said the Aquino administration have truckloads of lies, empty promises and lip services, especially to the Bangsamoro. These lies will surely be repeated again during today’s SONA of Pres. Aquino,” he said. The group also lashed at allies of President Aquino for delaying the passage of the draft Bangsamoro Basic Law which the group said will bring peace in troubled Mindanao. This administration is full of lip services, empty promises and brandishing economic gains which only made the rich, richer and the poor, poorer,” Abas said. The city police estimated the number of rally participants at less than 100 persons.
