Suspected illegal recruiter denies he uses Sayadi's name

COTABATO CITY -- A suspected illegal recruiter who was arrested for recruitingapplicants for Puregold Incorporateddepartment store denied he dropped the name of Cotabato City Administrator Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi.Samil Mantawi Lucas, 30, a resident of Purok Amerol, Barangay Kalanganan, Cotabato City will be transferred to the Cotabato City Jail anytime this week.Lucas was arrested in an entrapment operation of Police Station 1 operatives after a complainant alerted the police about his suspicious activities.A complainant said Lucas claimed he was authorized by Puregold to recruit workers and collected registration fees. The complainant said Lucas dropped the name of Atty. Sayadi.PUREGOLD Price Club Inc. is expected to open business in the city before the year ends.One of Lucas' victims,Samsudin Abiden, a resident of the city and applying for security guard, decided not to file charges against the suspect. I will not file charges because he did not ask for money from mebut Lucas should stop his illegal activities, Abiden said.Lucas said someone instructed him to recruit and he too was a victim of illegal recruitment. He offered to refund the money he collected from applicants.
