Twin quake hit Davao Occidental
COTABATO CITY – Two moderate
earthquakes shook several towns in Davao Occidental Tuesday morning, the state
seismology office reported today.
In its bulletin, the
Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), reported that the first quake
was measured at Magnitude 4.9 that occurred at 10:32 a.m.
The quake,
which was tectonic in origin, was traced 75 kilometers west of Don Marcelino in
Davao Occidental and has a depth of 64 kilometers.
The tremor was felt
at Intensity IV in Alabel and Malungon, Saranggani Intensity III in Davao
City, Digos City, Padada, Davao del Sur Alabel, Saranggani and Gen. Santos
City and Intensity II in Tupi, South Cotabato.
At 11:49, a Magnitude
4.1 also hit Davao Occidental which Phivolcs traced 76 kilometers west of
Saranggani town.
It has a depth of 98
kilometers and tectonic in origin.
No casualty or damage
