2 blasts rock Zamboanga City, cop, K-9 dog injured

COTABATO CITY - A cop responding to an earlier blast in Zamboanga City was hurt when the second explosive went off at past 7 p.m. Sunday, radio reports said.The first blast occurred at a Videoke Bar along Tomas Claudio Street while the second blast happened while bomb disposal team members were conducting post blast investigation.DXVP Radyo Verdadero reported that PO2 Franklin Init, K-9 dog handler,was hurt in the second explosion. He was rushed to Brent hospital and his K-9 dog which was also wounded.Following the twin blast, the Zamboanga City government issued a statement on radio and television for the public to stay home and stay calm but vigilant.No one has claimed responsibility in the attacks and police are still investigating the blast site.
