At 4and00 AM today, the eye of Typhoon OMPONG {VONGFONG}was located based on all available data at 940 km East Southeast of Calayan,Cagayan(18.9ºN, 130.4ºE)with maximum winds of 215 kph and gustiness of up to 250 kph. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 9 kph. Intertropical Convergence Zone(ITCZ)affecting Mindanao.Forecastand Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON, Bicol Region, Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms. Cagayan Valley, CAR and the provinces of Ilocos will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains. The rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.Moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast to northwest will prevail over Luzon and from the west to southwest over the rest of the country. The coastal waters over the entire archipelago will be moderate to rough.
