Low turn out of SK registrants in North Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN
CITY (Sept. 29) – Election officials in North Cotabato today admitted the
turnout of registrants in the 10-day Sangguniang Kabataan registration was a
bit low.

Lawyer
Dueque Kadatuan, North Cotabato election supervisor, said as of Monday morning,
about 6,438 youth, aged 15-17, have showed up at poll registration centers in
the province’s 17 towns and one city.

This
is only about one-fourth of our expected registrants,” Kadatuan said.

He
said unless the qualified youth show up until 5 p.m. today and register, they
cannot vote in the February 21, 2015 SK elections.

Kadatuan
appealed to qualified registrants to take the opportunity by showing up in all
registration centers and register.The
North Cotabato Comelec office is expecting about 20,000 SK registrants. (NE)
